Wedding at New Lamu Palace Hotel & Petley’s Inn – Lamu Town :

Lamu Palace is situated on the seafront overlooking Lamu Harbor. Slightly more modern than most of the other Lamu guest houses and hotels, this is a well-established hotel with self-contained rooms and hot water. Although some rooms are quite small, it is the only hotel in Lamu with air-conditioned rooms.

Its Arabic-style façade stands out on the row of buildings on the Lamu waterfront. The downstairs restaurant overlooks the street, alcohol is served here. There is a supplement charged for sea-view rooms. The hotel’s private boat ferries its guests daily to Manda beach where there is a beach bar and day beds available. Guided tours of the town are provided by the hotel free of charge.

Wedding at Luxury Country House – Mukima House, Nanyuki

Superbly situated beneath the snow-capped spires of Mount Kenya, overlooking its dam, enveloped in velvet lawns and on its conservancy, Mukima House is the epitome of a gracious wedding and honeymoon venue. It boasts broad stone terraces, plump beds of lavender, a galleried staircase, a baronial reception area, a suite of reception rooms and its mini spa. It also offers a palatial honeymoon suite (with a log fire, Edwardian claw-foot bathtubs and ‘his and hers’ pre- or post-wedding massage), and a choice of at least ten venues for the actual ceremony. Choose from by the dam (arrival by boat or helicopter optional), on the lawns, in the central courtyard, on the terrace, by the oval swimming pool, under a passionflower bower, in the estate grasslands or against a background of elephants that await just a short drive down the road.

The house is fully equipped to host small weddings, already owning a dance floor, tables, chairs and table settings for 150 people.
